Subject: Travel Updates
Dear College Community,
I am sharing traveling guidelines as a reminder to all who may be traveling back to NYC from vacation. CUNY is following the NYS guidelines with regard to traveling out of the country and noncontiguous states.
When traveling from vacation out of the country or a non-contiguous state, CUNY requires 14-day quarantine.
For any traveler to New York State from a noncontiguous state, US territory or CDC level 2 and higher country, the new guidelines for travelers to test-out of the mandatory 14-day quarantine are below:
- For travelers who were out-of-state for more than 24 hours:
- Travelers must obtain a test within three days of departure, prior to arrival in New York.
- The traveler must, upon arrival in New York, quarantine for three days.
- On day 4 of their quarantine, the traveler must obtain another COVID test. If both tests comes back negative, the traveler may exit quarantine early upon receipt of the second negative diagnostic test.
The traveler should provide me with both test results (results country/state traveling from and the one from NYC upon return) before being allowed back to campus. *Everbridge will lock them out if that doesn't happen.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to practice social distancing, mask-wearing, and good hand washing and sanitizing hygiene.
As always, any person who develops symptoms of should contact their health care provider.
