C ompTIA A+ Computer Technician Program

This program is geared towards individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in information technology. Courses will be held online and will cover the fundamentals of PC hardware, software and peripherals. Topics will include hardware and software troubleshooting, operating systems, operational procedures, security, virtualization and cloud computing. The program will also prepare students for the CompTIA A+ certification exam. Courses will begin Spring 2022

Eligibility: Must be 18 years or older, attained a high school diploma or equivalent, eligible to work in the United States

CUNY Fatherhood (CFA) TASC/HSE Preparation & College/Career Preparation
TASC/HSE Prep: 16-week High School Equivalency
College/Career Prep: 10-week college and career prep program

Both the TASC Prep (16-weeks) and College/Career Prep (10-week) programs are free for residents of  New York  City, specifically fathers, ages 18  to 30. Both programs offer academic support, mentorship, counseling, and workshops focused on communication, conflict resolution, vocational exploration, and parenting skills. CFA promotes responsible parenting, college readiness, and work among unemployed and underemployed fathers.

Eligibility: Must be a current or expecting biological father, New York City resident, and 18-30 years old.

Maritime Technology PRE-Apprenticeship Program

This program prepares students for entry into the Maritime Technology Apprenticeship Program (MTAP), the first DOL-approved apprenticeship program for marine mechanics in the nation. This PRE-apprenticeship program is geared for students who are interested in entering the Maritime industry and MTAP, but whose academic skills are not where they should be. The program pays for up to 16 Kingsborough college credits.

Program eligibility: at least 18 years old; high school diploma or equivalent; enrolled at Kingsborough; eligible to work in the US; interested in the maritime industry; attended an Information Session (click here to register).
