Biography
Carl Schlachte has taught at Kingsborough since 2022, and has served as co-coordinator of composition since 2024. He teaches in the composition sequence, with a focus on writing about local contexts and issues, as well as the spaces and places where students live their lives.
Prior to teaching at Kingsborough, Prof. Schlachte taught at colleges and universities in Maine, North Carolina, and elsewhere in the CUNY system. His research interests include writing program administration, writing assessment, and students' perceptions of their own writing abilities.
