As advocates for our students, each of the departments within the Division of Student Affairs is responsible for
supporting the co-curricular and developmental needs of the student body and for developing
policies, programs and services consistent with the campus mission of providing a
positive campus life experience for each student.
Additionally, members of the Student Affairs Division interact with a wide range of individuals and groups including SUNY system executives, legislators,
business and community leaders, faculty, students and parents. Additionally, the Office
of the Vice President for Student Affairs serves as an advisor to the President, and
the Division participates in the overall administration of the University with representation
on the President's Cabinet.
Access-Ability Services
Access-Ability Services (AAS) is committed to opening doors of equal opportunity to
individuals with disabilities at Kingsborough Community College. Our goal is to equalize
opportunities and to provide access through appropriate academic accommodations to
self-identified KCC students with disabilities.
The Access Resource Center (ARC) provides a wide range of holistic services to the
College Community and to empower students to overcome life barriers in order to achieve
their educational goals. Free Services offered: benefits screening, legal consultation,
financial consultation, tax preparation, food pantry and more!
Kingsborough’s Athletic Program offers students a wide range of opportunities to participate
in many sports. Their emphasis is on promoting enjoyment, skill development, knowledge,
and sportsman-like competition. Supported by student fees, intercollegiate athletics
are an integral part of a student’s total college experience and development.
The Child Development Center offers high quality early care and education opportunities
for children of KCC students ages 2 years to 5 years, as well as parent education
and academic support for student parents. They provide a safe, nurturing environment
for the preschooler while his/her parent(s) attends classes.
CUNY Edge provide students who receive public assistance, through the New York City
Human Resource Administration (HRA), with the supports necessary to achieve academic
success, secure sustainable employment, and to become engaged members of society.
The program provides personal and career advisement services, career readiness and
financial literacy.
The Office of Community Standards is responsible for acting on behalf of Kingsborough
Community College and the Office of Student Affairs in matters pertaining to student
conduct and discipline. The Office deals with alleged instances of student misconduct
and academic dishonesty on campus.
The Men’s Resource Center at Kingsborough Community College provides academic and
peer support to self-identified men of color to help empower them and improve their
college experience. Program offers peer to peer mentoring, intensive academic supports,
networking, support groups and cultural and educational trips and activities.
The Military & Veteran Affairs Office (MAVA) serves the needs of prospective and enrolled
active military personnel, Veterans, their dependents and survivors. The program aides
in application and certification for students who are eligible to receive education
benefits under various Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) programs.
The My Turn program provides older adults the opportunity to fulfill their academic
and recreational goals and aspirations by inviting seniors 60 and older to join the
campus community and audit elect courses tuition free.
The Office of Student Life builds community and a sense of belonging through equitable,
accessible and inclusive programming for students. The program develops, promotes
and delivers curated events, student-centered co-curricular programming, and culturally
responsive and equitable leadership opportunities that help students achieve academic,
personal and professional success.
The Student Union and Intercultural Center is a safe, inclusive, and accessible space
in service to and in partnership with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community
members. This space is used to foster intercultural understanding, student/faculty
collaboration, leadership, civic engagement, and a deeper sense of belonging that
complements academic programs and enhances the education experience at Kingsborough.
Student Wellness Services (SWS) can help you achieve your goals during your journey
here at Kingsborough. Services consist of four separate programs to holistically provide
for your need: Counseling Center, Health Center, Wellness Center and Women’s Center.
All services are free, confidential, and voluntary for all registered students.
The Trio program connects first-generation, low-income students, and those with disabilities
to opportunities that prepare them to meet their goals. They offer an array of services
and interventions such as advisement, counseling, coaching, college knowledge workshops
and tutorials.
