Hello Prospective International Student,
Thank you for your interest in Kingsborough Community College. Kingsborough has been named one of the leading community colleges in the country by the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program. Kingsborough is also one of 24 different colleges that make up the City University of New York (CUNY). Kingsborough offers 38 associate degree and 4 certificate programs.
As an international student, there are three steps that you must complete in order to study in the United States.

Step 1:
You must apply and be accepted into Kingsborough Community College. You may apply
to KCC by simply visiting the
City University of New York website, and following the links to:
- Create a CUNY Application Account
- Complete the Freshman application/Transfer application.
- Submit application fee

Step 2:
Once you have been accepted into KCC you must apply for an I-20. The I-20 form is
immigration document that shows eligibility for the F-1 Nonimmigrant Student Status.
You may download the application by clicking on the following link: College I-20 form and Checklist.
During this step, you and/or your sponsors will need to show that you have enough
financial support to cover your education and living expenses while studying. The
checklist will list all the documents that you and/or your sponsor will need to submit
during this step.
Step 3:
Lastly, once you have been issued and received your I-20 form, you must make an appointment at the US Embassy to apply for an F-1 visa. Once you have been approved for the F-1 visa, you can enter the United States no earlier than 30 days prior to the start date of your I-20.
