Tom Eaton is a tenured Assistant Professor of Animation in the Graphic Design and Illustration program. He has taught in the program since 2008, and was involved in starting the Animation Concentration and devising the curriculum for the Animation classes. He curates Kingsborough’s annual Rarebit Animation Festival, which features student work from Kingsborough and other CUNY colleges.

Tom earned an MFA in Digital Media from Lehman College (CUNY), and has a background working on television animation productions for Cartoon Network, PBS, Disney Channel, and more. He has created freelance projects, including writing and animating Bert and Ernie videos for Sesame Workshop International, and directing/animating music videos for artists such as Sufjan Stevens. His original short animated films have screened at festivals in the U.S. and internationally, including San Diego Comic Con Independent Film Festival, the Chicago International Children's Film Festival, Animation Block Party, Brooklyn Film Festival's kidsfilmfest, and more. Tom has also contributed to weekly children’s comics site Sunday Haha.
