Free Workforce Training Programs
This program prepares participants for exams in 2 CompTIA certifications: ITF+ and A+. The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) is a non-profit trade association, issuing professional certifications for the IT industry with specialties in Information Security, Network and Cloud Comping, IT Service Management, Software and Application Development, and Training.
Eligibility: At least 18 years old; high school diploma, or equivalent; eligible to work in the US; have access to a computer with a stable internet connection; attended an information session (registration information to come).
Design Works is a User Experience (UX) Design training program. UX Design is a multi-disciplinary approach to user/consumer engagement by using psychology, human-centered design, and visual design to enhance how a person responds to a product, whether that be a website, mobile application, wearable technology or print materials. Focused on developing real world technical skills and competencies, Design Works melds classroom instruction, project-based learning through the development of professional portfolios, and industry expertise through internships so participants are prepared for careers as UX Designers whether they are working as independent contracts or as employees within larger companies.

HealthPath is a healthcare training program that helps participants develop a career growth mindset so they have the tools and knowledge to advance within the healthcare industry. The program consists of 4 unique occupational skills training classes: Home Health Aide, HealthPath Bridge (Mental Health First Aid and CPR), Health Coach and Certified Nursing Assistant. Students can enter at any point along the path, or stay enrolled for the entire 40 week program.

KCC’s Job Corp Scholars program provides technical training classes and programs to young adults, 18-24 years old. It gives participants the opportunity to earn industry certifications, college credits, and on-the-job training experiences to prepare them for work in one of three in-demand and high-growth sectors: Healthcare, Trade, or Business.

This program prepares students for entry into the Maritime Technology Apprenticeship Program (MTAP), the first DOL-approved apprenticeship program for marine mechanics in the nation. This PRE-apprenticeship program is geared for students who are interested in entering the Maritime industry and MTAP, but whose academic skills are not where they should be. The program pays for up to 16 Kingsborough college credits.
