What is KCC - LSAMP?
The Kingsborough Community College Louis Stokes Alliance for the Minority Participation
(KCC-LSAMP) in Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology is a federally funded
research and training program offered in all the CUNY institutions. It is sponsored
by a grant from the National Science Foundation in collaboration with the City University
of New York.
What are the objectives of KCC - LSAMP?
- To help increase the number of associates degree recipients from populations who have traditionally been underrepresented in the sciences and engineering.
- To encourage participation by providing research assistantships and academic support in the science, technology, engineering and math ( STEM ).
- To incorporate collaborative learning and support for students in calculus, chemistry and physics courses with peer tutors, workshop leaders and faculty mentors.
