Sharon Warren Cook, MSW, PhD
Interim Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost
As chief academic officer of the College, Dr. Sharon Warren Cook participates in the development, evaluation and administration of college policy and the advancement of the College’s strategic priorities and planning. She oversees the College’s 15 academic departments, with direct responsibility for all curricular and assessment matters, research, and faculty development, including the Library, the Center for Teaching and Learning and the Center for-e-Learning. She also oversees all offices and programs supporting student success, high school partnership programs, athletics, student life, student conduct, health services and counseling, Access-Ability services, the Child Development Center, and special programing.
She has participated in several national panels, presenting on such topics as support services for single mothers, diversifying pathways in nursing, and civic engagement. The National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) selected her as a publication evaluator for 2023, and she is currently serving as a Middle States Self-Study reviewer.
Cook holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s in social work with a concentration in management and community organizing, and a Ph.D. in curriculum and teaching, specializing in educational research methodology. Her certifications include student development; holistic counseling; spiritual coaching; diversity, equity, and inclusion; respect for ethnic and racial differences; supporting LGBTQ rights in the workplace; and academic assessment.
