As the executive legal counsel and labor designee at Kingsborough Community College, Beth Douglas advises and counsels the college president and administrators on a wide range of issues including labor relations, employment law, compliance, contracts, litigation, governance, student affairs, and ethics. She also acts as the designated representative for labor matters, handling union grievances and serving as a hearing officer.

Prior to joining KCC in May 2020, she served as the assistant managing attorney at the New York City Police Department (NYPD) for over 13 years, where she prosecuted high-profile cases of corruption and serious misconduct and assisted in maintaining the integrity of the disciplinary process by meeting with other governmental and investigative agencies to enhance cooperation and coordination of efforts between those agencies and the department’s disciplinary system.

A graduate of Syracuse University and New York Law School, Douglas’ legal career began as an assistant district attorney with the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. She has also held positions as a litigation associate at the law firm of Heidell, Pittoni, Murphy and Bach, LLP, and as staff counsel at Allstate Insurance Company.
