WHAT WE OFFER:
CMAT provides the following support services to students:
Workshop: CMAT's primary tutoring model is the Math Workshop. Free professional tutoring is
available on a walk-in basis to any KCC student currently enrolled in a math class
or a class with a math component (Culinary Arts, Physical Sciences, Nursing 17, Science
25, etc.). Tutors circulate among students as they work on their math problems;
a tutor will usually work with a student 15 20 minutes before going to work with other
students. Students utilizing the math workshop must present a valid KCC ID.
Math Computer Lab: CMAT has a Math Computer Lab (MCL) with 24 computers and a teacher's station. It
is also available for current KCC math and computer science students, on a walk-in
basis, who need to work on their computer programs or use the computers to do their
homework. Students can utilize both the Workshop and the MCL
The MCL also supports computer-assisted tutoring. Presently, students participating
in the Multiple Repeater program (Mat M100 and Mat M200) are required to complete
their ALEKS assignments in the MCL.
Math Skills Lab (C206): The Math Skills Lab is used for many initiatives. Currently, in collaboration with
Tutorial and Academic Support Services, Multiple Repeaters workshops are conducted
for students who have taken Math M100 and Math M200, two or more times.
